People say they want decent public education, but it's no secret that teacher salaries are hardly commensurate with this stated goal. Many go without contracts for years, and essential programs like art, music, and sports are perenially cut. Powerful churches grow richer every day, while those of us who can least afford to do so cover their tax obligations.

No one is asking you to abandon your church. You will be better able to financially support whatever institutions you wish with the extra money you'll have when your own property taxes go down. Next time you look at your pay stub, give some some serious thought to exactly what your taxes are subsidizing.

WE DO NOT WANT YOUR MONEY. SERIOUSLY.

WE WANT YOU TO DO THIS: Next time Congress is looking for another $20 billion a year to finance a war, tell them to look no further than income tax on religious payroll. Tell them today. And let them know you intend to vote accordingly.
